Yes, I have a Livejournal, and yes I write to it, but no it is not a personal blog. It’s a place for me to stretch my writing skills away from the main website. I should (and probably will) one day consolidate everything into one big website, probably right here, but until then I have to satisfy myself with practising on LiveJournal.

I will, in time, start posting stuff from there to here as well. I’ve been working for a while on a project of writing stuff, a vast universe of stories which are all interlinked, and that story will be posted here to be read, as well as on the LiveJournal. For now, subscribe to there until I can get the good stuff from there posted to this blog as well. It’s coming, I promise.

I thought you all might like to know quite what ViolentSleep and old papa Dytalus are up to lately.

Simply put, I’m swamped. Between college/uni work and work for Twilight Shadow I’ve been on the edge of total breakdown. Also, thanks to major setback including (but not limited to) two hard drive failures, difficulty with a game engine and a misfire during the install of Windows 7, I’ve fallen miles behind on Remnants. It was just a case of too many stumbling blocks in a short space of time, and then I just lost the will to continue. However, as things calm down and settle, I shall endeavour to rekindle my game-making spirit. After all, Remnant has been in production for two years now, which is longer than even some big-name game companies take. ViolentSleep Industries = Epic Fail it would seem.

Also, Twilight Shadow Studios has been working on Shadow Warfare Round 4, which I can tell you is looking damn impressive. We have some features in which are simply amazing, and all balancing issues seem to have been worked out. We’re hoping to have SWR4 out within the next week or so, complete with a TSS Portal system so I’ll keep you posted on that as it happens.

I am also aware that the blog/news section of my website appears weird in Internet Explorer. All I can suggest to people having that problem is either: Deal with it, until I find out why IE is being stupid and making things look broken, or find yourself a proper web browser such as Firefox or Chrome (I recommend Chrome personally).

That’s about it, so fare thee well everyone.

Isn’t writer’s block the worst?

I hate not having something to write for my blog, or for my stories. Most of all I hate having no idea on where to go next with my game. I have the basic plot and the major events, it’s all the little tiny details I never know anything about. Everytime I get an idea I lose it just moments before I can get to some kind of paper to write down. I think college is sapping all my creative effort, and I’m still not doing very well at college. I never really do very well at anything. I did start a Facebook group though. That’s gotta be something. At any rate, a few projects of mien have started working up their momentum again, so with any luck I’ll have some kind of news here in the not-so-distant future.

I go some new software lately to allow me to write blogs from my desktop. So even if I don’t have the internet can still write something. So fingers are firmly crossed for future progress.

Sleep. Work. Eat.

Sleep. Work. Eat.

Sleep. Work. Eat.

A day in, day out, monotonous routine which this poor man had sunk into. Working a job he hated, to put food on the table of a family who treated him like shit, all because he had been told to “Learn some fucking responsibility”. Where had his dreams died? Where had his shining star faded?

His days spent in College? Perhaps. That was where reality had slapped him hardest.

His days living with his parents? Perhaps. That was where he had been told to grow up.

His days as a married man? Perhaps. That was where he had been forced to change who he was.

I wonder where I’ll be in ten years?

Probably in the same damn place. Working for some useless prick who didn’t know the difference between a CD-ROM and a DVD, much less how to fix the crappy plastic boxes their company churned out. This man had once had dreams of becoming a musician, of making movies. He had never wanted money. He’d never wanted a big house and a fast car, he just wanted to live his life in an enjoyable manner. After all, he was only going to get one chance, wasn’t he?

Life has a habit of crushing one’s dreams.

The world had caught up with him. College had stripped him of all desires to be anything more than another man in a suit, his family had stripped him of all desires to go his own way, his wife had stripped him of everything which stopped him being the perfect fucking husband. What was this man’s name?

Does it matter? Does he matter? Probably not.

Did he have any other options? Could he have turned out any different? Perhaps. If he hadn’t been so much of a coward, so afraid to stand up and take responsibility and make good on all the promises he made himself. If he’d asked that girl out in high school, if he’d gone ahead and set up that business, if he’d just fucking stayed focused on something for longer than a week. But it’s all gone. The shining star has gone and nothing guides his way.

Sleep. Work. Eat.

Sleep. Work. Eat.

Sleep. Work. Eat.

Die.
